The Armoury - Rapiers

It is called a "Spada di Stocco". The handle is built for a hand and a half grip, and the entire sword is about 3'6" long. The hilt assembly is narrow, with plain quillons that sweep outward in a large angled 'u' shape. The blade is the oddest part -- about 2'6", it begins extremely narrow, and then after about 8", widens greatly, before tapering to a medium sized point at the end. The make is Venetian, ca. 1580, so my best guess is this is some kind of Italianate transition rapier.
