We cancelled our planned workfest on Saturday, September 8th due to Hurricane Fran sending gobs of rain our way, but Sunday turned out to be a beautiful day, so after practice, we headed to my place for pizza (w/combat videos> and then out to work on the trailer. Enthusiasm was very high as we set to work. First order of business was flipping the trailer on it's side to remove an ant infested panel which had gone unnoticed at purchase.
One team carefully undertook gently freeing the side from the top and internal frame. They varied between a sawsall, prying nails, and trying to loosen bolts. Hearing themselves think was perhaps the hardest task as the more, hmm, power-tool oriented group worked on prepping the frame for painting.
Sam, braving both the heat and the thunderous noise, worked the
interior of the trailer as Scott on the exterior, removed bolts (mostly
rusted to nothing!)
Mike brought it from home, so he was damn
well gonna use it! The disk sander from hell made short work of any area
we could fit it into...
David wondered if we forgot something after we righted the trailer at
the end of nearly 4 hours. It is obviously going to take a couple of more
afternoons to get the trailer where we want it.
