We have choreographed fights for stage, screen and renaissance festivals, as well as teach workshops for local schools and theater conferences. We are currently conducting classes at Lake Seminole Park in Pinellas Park on Sunday every week and also at the Roberts Adult Education Center on Mondays and Thursdays for the city of St. Petersburg Recreation Department. Everyone is welcome to watch classes and join in as well. Below is a brief bio on all of our instructors. Kevin Daniels Kevin is an eleven-year veteran of the Bay Area Renaissance Festival Human Chess Match Stunt Team. Kevin has not only performed for the Festival; he has also been an assistant director for five years. A student of the martial arts, Kevin was inducted into the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 1999 for showmanship. Kevin also teaches Stage Combat workshops to high schools and colleges throughout Florida and was a Stage Combat Instructor for the 1999 and 2000 Florida Theater Conference held in Lakeland, Florida. In 1998, Kevin was the fight director for the St. Petersburg Junior College Clearwater Facility?s production of ?Cyrano?. Kevin is also a member of the Carl Stone Self-Defense Unlimited Demonstration Team, and has performed in stunt shows for Busch Gardens Special Events in Tampa, Florida. David Hendershot An alumnus of the University of Miami, this two-year collegiate wrestling star has been a stunt man for the Bay Area Renaissance Festival in Largo for twelve years. Dave has studied jujitsu for five years and he is a recent inductee into the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame for Showmanship. In 1992, Dave had the honor of teaching at the Southeastern Theater Conference held in Tampa, Florida as an assistant instructor for Stage Combat, and he has also taught Stage Combat at the Florida Theater Conference held in Lakeland in both 1999 and 2000. Dave is a member of the Carl Stone Self-Defense Unlimited Demonstration Team, and has performed for the World Martial Arts Hall Of Fame and in stunt shows for Busch Gardens Special Events in Tampa, Florida. Daniel Lentz Dan has been a professional Martial Arts Instructor for Carl Stone Self Defense in Largo, Florida for over fifteen years, as well as being a Fight Captain for the Bay Area Renaissance Festival Human Combat Chess Match for the 1998, 1999 and 2000 seasons. A two-time inductee into the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame for Regional Instructor of the Year, Dan has also studied Film and Television Fight Choreography at Universal Studios Florida. He has also acted as a Choreographer/Fight Director for the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame Demonstration Team. Dan was a Stage Combat Instructor for the 1999 and 2000 Florida Theater Conference held in Lakeland, Florida, and has choreographed and directed stunt shows for Busch Gardens Special Events in Tampa, Florida.
