Cirque Surya (sir•ka sir•ya) is a collective of circus enthusiasts offering performances throughout Michigan and the surrounding areas.
Our troupe exists as a subsidiary of the Ring of Steel Action Theatre, and many of our performers are also experts in stage combat and stunt work.
The two organizations frequently travel together to create truly memorable events, many of which we are invited back to year after year.

We come equipped with our own portable aerial rig, and where the venue permits we can also do our own aerial rigging.
Whether we’re putting together fire safety protocols for the local fire marshal, spending hundreds of hours training, or checking our props for wear, we make sure our shows are safe for audience and performers alike.
Our portable aerial rig can be set up indoors or outdoors to accommodate heights as low as 14′ and as high as 24′. At full height the rig has a footprint of approximately 24′ square. High wind environments may require the use of ground stakes.
The rig can be used for all of our aerial apparatuses. Aerial silks, aerial hammock, lyra, straps, and trapeze can be hung from a set point for the duration of an event, or we can utilize a pulley system so that the apparatuses can be changed out during the course of a show.
Our fire performers are extensively trained in safety techniques both as performers and as spotters. From the wearing of all natural fibers in our costumes to proper utilization of different types of fire extinguishers, clients can rest easy knowing that our team has fire safety under control.
We are always happy to work with local fire marshals to explain our safety procedures. Fire performances work best either outdoors or in well-ventilated indoor areas. Some venues and forms of set dressing are not suitable for fire performance. Our team is happy to offer consultations with regard to putting on safe, exciting shows in your venue.
